Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SaaStore.
For Buyers
What is SaaStore?
SaaStore is the curated home for software built by independent makers. We hand-pick and review listings before they go live, so you can discover tools that solve real problems, without endless searching.
How does SaaStore vet listings?
Every listing is reviewed end-to-end by our team before it goes live, and approved apps can earn up to five trust signals shown on their page: an independent security scan (Unpwned), a UI/UX audit (SiteWise), a buyer persona-fit audit (Tookii), a phone-verified seller, and our hands-on manual review. Each badge means we did some of the homework for you - but we still encourage you to try the product before you commit.
Where do I actually buy the product?
It depends on the listing. On some apps you can subscribe and pay right here on the SaaStore page, with Freemius acting as merchant of record for the card, the VAT and the receipt. Other listings send you straight to the maker's own site, where you sign up and pay them directly. Both are live today, and either way SaaStore takes no commission on the sale.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are arranged with the seller, since the transaction happens on their site under their own terms. If you have trouble reaching a seller or feel a listing is misrepresented, email info@saastore.ai and we will step in to help mediate.
For Sellers
How do I list my product on SaaStore?
Create a seller account, set up your store profile, and submit your product through our wizard. We review submissions ourselves and run an optional independent security scan before your listing goes live, so when you launch your buyers see a reviewed, trustworthy presence from day one.
Does it cost anything to list?
Free. Listing on SaaStore costs nothing today. Down the line we may offer optional premium placements, but a baseline listing will always stay free.
What kind of products can I list?
We focus on web-based software: SaaS tools, web apps, browser extensions, and the like. Your product stays on your own site or infrastructure. SaaStore drives interested buyers to you.
What does SaaStore do for me as a seller?
We put your product in front of people who are actively searching for software in your category. That includes placement in our directory, category landing pages, and search. We are not a replacement for your own marketing, we are a high-intent discovery channel that complements it.
Do you take a commission?
No commission. Buyers can subscribe and pay right on your app's SaaStore page, and a listing can send them to your own site to check out instead. Both work today, and in either case SaaStore takes no percentage of your sales.
Trust badges and partner scanners
What is the Unpwned security scan?
Unpwned is an independent scanner that runs roughly 40 automated security checks against a seller's live site (things like TLS and SSL certificates, DNS hygiene, security headers, exposed secrets or tokens, and known-vulnerability fingerprints). It returns a letter grade, a score out of 100, and a list of findings sorted by severity (low, medium, high, critical). When a scan completes and a SaaStore admin reviews it, the listing earns a visible "Security · Unpwned" badge. For a buyer, the badge means an outside scanner looked at the seller's site for common security gaps and the seller welcomed that review. It is a trust signal, not a guarantee, and a listing without the badge may simply have chosen not to opt in. For a seller, the scan is a free opt-in during the upload wizard, with no setup or hosting work on your side.
What is the Tookii persona audit?
Tookii is a persona audit: it looks at a seller's site the way different kinds of buyers would and reports whether the page makes sense to them. It returns a verdict (passed or needs work), a trust score and a clarity score (each out of 100), a short list of what works and what is missing, and reactions from a few sample buyer personas. A listing earns a "Persona-fit · Tookii" badge when the audit completes and the verdict passes. For a buyer, it is a quick read on whether a product explains itself clearly and looks credible to people like you. For a seller, it is feedback on how convincing your page is to a first-time visitor. SaaStore runs these audits as part of the review process; results are checked by an admin before any badge appears.
What is the SiteWise audit?
SiteWise is a site-quality audit focused on user experience and conversion. It returns an overall score out of 100, a letter grade (A to F), and four sub-scores (behavioural, trust, performance, and compliance), along with specific findings and recommendations (for example, button contrast, mobile navigation, or missing social proof). A listing earns a "UI/UX · SiteWise" badge when the audit completes and the score clears our quality bar. For a buyer, a high SiteWise grade signals a polished, well-built site that is easy to use. For a seller, the findings are a practical punch list of fixes that tend to improve how visitors experience and trust your page. As with the other audits, results are reviewed by an admin before a badge goes live.
General
Who is behind SaaStore?
SaaStore was founded by Dor Ben Basat and Michael Fishman, two entrepreneurs on a mission to help indie software makers reach the customers who need their work.
Is SaaStore limited to one country?
Not at all. SaaStore is open to sellers and buyers worldwide. We welcome listings from any corner of the globe.
How is SaaStore different from Gumroad or LemonSqueezy?
Gumroad and LemonSqueezy are payment tools, they collect money on your behalf. SaaStore is a discovery layer that sits one step earlier in the funnel: we curate, review, and surface software to people who are looking for it. We do not replace your checkout, we send qualified buyers to it.
